Mo and I had a chance to go out for the first time in a long time yesterday. He is sick with a hand-me-down germ from the boys, but sucked it up so we wouldn't miss out on the rare babysitter.
We jumped in the car and in 15 short minutes, Mo struck a California pose when we arrived:
I mean, it's gorgeous here. The weather is perfect everyday. We ate on a deck in the late afternoon, overlooking the ocean in Del Mar. Then we drove down the coast through Torrey Pines and ended up at a beach/park in La Jolla where we people watched and sought out some fro-yo.
The sun set and we headed home right as the boys were being tucked in. There was enough time for Mo to have some tea and both of us to fall asleep on the couch waiting and waiting to watch Missy Franklin and Michael Phelps.
We may still have stuff to put away, rooms to decorate and friends to find, but I think we landed in one nice spot.
I think we're going to like it here.
