We had a weekend of plans planned, but poor Mo missed out on today's highlight: Coast Guard Day with the Padres! While Mo rested at home, the big boys and I forged ahead and went to the game. It was their first Major League game.
Petco Park is in downtown San Diego and its so accessible, clean and beautifully-designed. We got tickets for $5. A Coast Guard helicopter flew over. And, they serve plenty of sugar. Win, win, win.
While I didn't think I would know anyone there as they are all Mo's newest colleagues, I was pleasantly surprised to be surrounded by old CGA faces and their families. While I caught up with old friends, the boys enjoyed the game, which featured two home runs by the home team!
And when we had enough sun, we hit the road home to reunite with Mo and X again. Can't wait until we can all go out to the ballgame.

Thanks for the updates. It does look as beautiful as I remember from my military days out there. What fun, and good to see you found a baby sitter and had some adult time to roam the area. The boys look happy, and they must love all the new adventures and surroundings.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics, thanks for sharing. Love....
Oh yes, and Happy Birthday X man.... your turn next time.
ReplyDeletepetco park was built while we've been over here in Germany but someday I will see it (from the inside)! How exciting for the boys! Too bad your husband missed it! Last time I was home (at Christmas) some of my family members went on a tour there. Did you go to Horton Plaza (aka the most confusing mall ever)?? I used to work at a fabric store there (that isn't there anymore). So envious of you all!!!
ReplyDeleteLove this, thank you. I've thought of you countless times since hearing of your move. Regular updates, please!!!
