First of all, thank you SO MUCH for all the texts, comments and emails that you've sent wishing us well on our journey. It's really nice to know that our friends and family are with us in spirit as we journey west. It's just the five of us here, but we feel like we have a cheering section via this blog too. So thanks! We're in the home stretch now and will try to keep the posts coming.
I realize they've gotten a little more boring as I've gotten a little more tired and rushed on Ipad time, but I'll at least try to hit the highlights. We hope to pick up the keys to our new home on Friday, so we're starting to shift modes a bit as we get more excited about our new life in California too.
Today we explored northern New Mexico and got our first up close glimpse of the mountains and canyons.
First stop, Chimayo, considered by some to be the Lourdes of the U.S. Pilgrims have been traveling there since the late 1800s. We went to mass and walked around a bit. Then it was off to Bandelier, to see the cliff dwellings of the Ancient Pueblans. I guess it's not cool to call them Anasazi anymore. It was amazing! And my personal favorite so far.
They have petroglyphs there too. I guess humans have been present in that area for 10000 years!
We also visited a pueblo (but didn't take photos) and hit another Diners Driveins and Dives restaurant for dinner - pizza this time. Yum. A perfect end to another great vacation day.

Welcome to the Southwest Murphys! Love you!
