Murphypalooza Day 3: Whatz up Prez Obama

On Day 3 we visited our nation's capital and did the most important thing first: ride the subway.

We tried to get White House tickets, but were denied. So we ate a snack and watched the snipers with all the other tourists.

A Chinese man even took our family photo for his vacation album. I wonder why? Was it the ugly stroller? The adorable children? Do we really look that American?

Well, ok, maybe.

It was a scorcher but we walked the Mall and saw the sites. Finnian got a book on Presidential pets and was fascinated to learn about alligators, turkeys, bears and all sorts of strange pets that have lived at the White House. "President Obama just has a dog," he said, defeated and totally unimpressed.

We lunched at the Native American musuem (two thumbs up) then visited Air and Space, spending most of the time with the Wright Brothers and the Astronauts.

We beat the traffic out of town while sucking down McDonalds shakes. We stayed with great friends again that night and as a special bonus went out with old friends while the kids had a fun night with new friends.
