The goodbyes continue. This week we said see you later to our favorite children's librarian, Ms. Nadine (who teared up at the boys' cards - what an awesome lady!) and our beloved belugas. It only took two straight years of visits, but Xavier now says "beluga." He doesn't say much else and prefers to communicate with grunts, so really, every word is a big victory.
I finally got the courage to touch one of the sharks in the shark tank. I wasn't nervous about the shark part, but I just don't really like touching animals. I find that I have to suck it up though to show these babies that there's nothing to be scared of. It just grosses me out!
This guy took a face plant at the aquarium, scraping up his nose pretty good. Baby skin heals so quickly though. Two days later and it's barely there:
We're getting ready for Easter... and had to move to the big pack of eggs this year.
Isaac had wacky Tuesday at school. I tried for the mohawk, but his thick, silky hair beat me.
Isaac has a penchant for the wacky accessories, even on regular days too.
He also has had a few victories lately. Several months ago, he all of a sudden started massively thumb sucking and pooping his pants. Fun times. But, he's been working hard on being big and has become a pro at getting his poop in the potty, buckling up by himself in the car and giving up the thumb. When he went 24 hours without sucking, he got to choose his reward. In Walmart. Because "they have everything there mama." Duh! He wanted legos and I was really trying to steer him away from the sets for older kids to prevent frustration with his reward. But he was insistent. He took this space shuttle home and sat down. Three hours and only a few fixes by me later, he had his toy. He was right; he could totally do it. He really is getting so big!
In other news, Finnian now has written homework to complete. It's really just busy work, but we're trying to get in the habit of it. I'm not a big fan, but he powers through.
I know the orientation is off, and I just don't have time to edit photos anymore (what am I going to do without Picnik?!?), but Isaac got a hold of Finnian's homework and really showed more interest in it than Finnian. Who wants to write can, it and we? It's much more fun to write Pizza, USS Nautilus and Isaac!!
And finally, that handsome guy on the left turned the big 3-5 this week and we celebrated with a low key party at home. He and I did have a great date at the castle dance this past weekend. Funny, when I went for the first time 13 years ago, I never thought I would go again. But we did, and honestly, it was just as much fun the second time around.
