I can't wait to dig into both projects, but for now I thought I'd spend this 10 minutes catching up with the untouched photos backing up on the computer, and sharing a few of our doings with you.
This weekend, spring was in the air, and the boys just needed to breathe it in. They have reached their limit of winter inside time and just want to go to the playground. Hopefully it will de-ice soon. But in the meantime, Mo took them on a daddy adventure, giving me a few quiet hours to write.
They went letterboxing in our town, pursuing a few treasures hidden in an old cemetery. I'm not sure about playing around headstones, but the boys thought it was a sweet adventure, especially because it was followed with a fresh donut. They LOVE letterboxing and we hope to do it more once the deep freeze ends... maybe we'll even plant our own this year? We'll see. But for now, two more letterboxes found!
Then, we spent much of the rest of the weekend preparing for Valentine's Day. This year, Finnian wanted to give his friends a treat with his valentine, so we settled on heart-shaped sugar cookies. Grami visited and helped with the baking, while Isaac definitely did his share of tasting.
Finnian designed his own valentine:
I thought the digital tattoos were a nice touch. Anyway, we stapled them up and delivered them to school. A hit!
We celebrated the holiday at his school, and then with our family at night, where homemade valentines were exchanged all around. Mamo and Papa sent a wonderful box of valentine treasures, which the boys loved digging through (Thank you!).
As always, the biggest hit were the glow sticks. A game of glow stick space ship commenced in the boys room after dinner, where I got a few nice shots.
After all that love, we all still are eager for spring. But good news! In this area, where seasonal businesses are everywhere, today I saw my first opening soon sign - March 4th for frozen custard. Spring is coming. Even the boys know it. Both stripped after lunch today and reappeared in the kitchen dressed for the beach.
Not too much longer buddy! In the meantime, looks like someone needs a new swim shirt and hat. xoxo

Finnian's valentine is AMAZING!
