Yesterday

we grocery shopped, did laundry, went to school and did all the normal Monday stuff. But, the day quickly turned magical. St. Nick paid a visit to they boys' shoes and they started their day with m&m's in mama's bed. Then, we celebrated the arrival of a new cousin to the Murphy brood. Welcome Harry! We're so glad you're here. Finnian quickly calculated that the boy cousins outnumber the girl cousins now, and he's pretty excited about that. We're amazed that there have been four new, healthy babies in our extended family in the past year - what a gift!

I finished the day with BNO - Bookers Night Out - an annual event for my super awesome, bookish group of friends where we gather for dinner and exchange the gift of books. The friend who had me spoiled me with a thoughtful, interesting pile of books, wrapped better than anything you'll see in the Pottery Barn catalog. I can't wait to dive in.

On top of all that hoopla, Xavier turned 4 months old.

He's losing his baby hair, which is being replaced by lighter brown/blondish hair. His baby blue eyes still stare at us and show no signs of darkening. His eyelashes are the longest in the family. He just loves watching the boys and dogs run around. He rolls over both ways, but is most content being propped in the sitting position, watching the craziness constantly unfolding around him. He hasn't warmed up to the bottle yet and seems to be teething. He throws up on me at least once a day and occasionally poops on me too. He's just peaceful. I often kiss his little raspberry birthmark, which isn't fading yet.

I'm trying to soak up every precious moment of his sweet babyhood!

All in all, not bad for a Monday, I think.

  1. Jennie told me you had a blog up now. I love it. Your photography is amazing. I can't believe you have time to be such a great mom, take wonderful pictures and post it on a blog. It looks like you guys are doing awesome out there. Xavier is such a cutie. I wish I could've met him while we were out there!
