gingerbread and baby cereal

Saturday was gingerbread house day. Mo had to work and I had to get some Christmas stuff done without the little spys who always accompany me, so my mom came down for the day and helped with the boys. What a lifesaver! As I left for the stores, I passed off the gingerbread house kit and they jumped right in to the project!

These were the before photos.
Here is the result:

Very impressive, I think! My mom reports that there were quite a few candies that didn't make it to the house, but that's certainly part of the fun.

In other news, Xavier had his 4 month appointment this past week. He's still healthy and strong, although his weight gain has dropped off considerably. It's not all that concerning, as he was a behemoth new baby. Literally off the growth chart at almost 15 lbs at his 2 month appt. At 4 months, he's 16 lbs 1 oz. So the doctor says it's time to start food. Although his face doesn't show it, his first meal actually was a success with most of the cereal making it down the hatch.

Since he still doesn't like the bottle, maybe he's destined to go straight from nursing to steak.
We'll see.
