what's up over here

Packing, sorting, unpacking, repacking, donating and gifting.
Finding out just how many vehicles can be made with a cardboard box.

Finishing up some art supplies and other stuff that it's just not worth moving,
like the powders, liquids and pastes in this science experiment set.

Hosting two darling little ladies who will soon call this place home. The boys cried when they left because all three fell in love over their visit and want to know when we can come back to
Connecticut to hang out with them.

 And little league's opening day.

Go Blue Claws and go #7!

There are a bunch of Blue Claw 3/4 y.o. siblings, so Isaac looks forward to baseball almost more than Finnian. Their favorite activity during games? Digging, rolling and playing in the dirt. Fun times!

one last Christmas post

I first started sewing from patterns (which was a break through after always drawing out my own ideas!) when Finnian was a baby. After I made his stocking, I moved on to the Christmas tree skirt, which is a very simple, quilted, off-white circular tree skirt. One of my favorite Christmas traditions as a kid was drawing a little something on our tree skirt every year. So we've continued the tradition! This year, I snapped a few photos before we packed it away for next Christmas. I can only imagine what it will look like in years to come.

Grandpa's visit part 1

Grandpa is here for a visit this week and we couldn't be happier. We've used his vacation as an excuse to be on vacation too! We visited the kite park, had a campfire, went for a hike and swam at the beach.
So far, so much fun!

the real milestones

The baby book may ask for dates of all the firsts going on around here- crawling, sitting, tri-pod position and eating finger foods. But we've hit the real milestones this week: gnawing on a dog bone, throwing toys through the baby gate and down the stairs, banging one's head on the kitchen floor and taking an inaugural dive into the dog bowl. Oh well, at least we've learned our lesson with potted plants; we've finally removed that temptation from the floor.

Also, I can't believe how much has changed in baby food products in the four short years we've been teaching littles to eat. There are far more organic choices, finger foods and travel sizes available. They even have pre-squished meals in juice boxes. That will be fun. For now, X's product of the moment is the mum-mum. It's the perfect first finger food - one big puff! They are also called rice rusks and have helped satisfy this very hungry and quickly growing child.

In other news, the book obsession continues here, with X joining in on the fun.

And, we squeezed in a little art time today too. I just had to share this masterpiece from Finnian:

It's called "I ate so many stuff that I had to go potty."
I'm so proud of him. Ha!
