Last weekend, we went to Disneyland.
I know none of my east coasties will believe this, but there is only ONE Dunkin Donuts in the whole state of California. I know, crazy! The one DD happens to be on a military base between our house and L.A. and right on the way to Anaheim. So we stopped. Of course.
The pink/orange/brown decor was so comforting, as was the hot, delicious and cheap Vanilla Chai. The boys downed their munckins and reminsced about all the crinkled brown DD bags that used to litter our van.
A quick 1.5 hours later and there we were: in the happiest place on Earth!
We hit the Dumbos early to avoid lines and inexplicably, everyone just loved that ride.
Despite some hesitation, the littlest guy LOVED the carousel. Which was great, since most other rides were too big or too scary for him. It also was one of the only rides we could all ride together.
In case you were wondering, none of our boys is the future King of England.
And Isaac rode his favorite ride a couple of times. Gadget's Go Coaster. It was fantastic! Finnian's favorite was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. He even tried Space Mountain on this trip but decided it was too scary. Did you know that the rides in Disneyland are generally bigger, scarier, longer and more intense than Disney World? We had no clue and our kids all experienced rides that were a little too much. But I don't think anyone was scarred as they all want to go back this weekend.
A jail, just like Storyland.
And we only had one boy who was interested in the characters. Xavier thought Donald was the best.
Autotopia was a hit.
As was all the sugar the littles consumed that day.
Check out that handsome guy in the back!

oh man that last one is a framer! Soo cool! I'm so happy you had a blast! I didn't know there was a Dunkin Donut shortage in California! To me all donut shops are the same even crispy creme tastes like everyone elses. TO ME. I realize I might be in the minority here:) and will get hate mail but I think after living here 9 years and not being able to get a decent donut has made me like any american donut place!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics. Looked so so fun. It has more charm than Disney World. The carousal always seems to be a favorite, and fun that you rode together. And for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, it was a blessing that Grandpa got to be on Mr. Finns, first ever ride on it. ANd he loved it way back then too.....
