On Day 5, we decided we wanted to get to my dad's because we had a few things to take care of in Tennessee before the weekend. So that left us with our first long day of driving. 500 miles. Could the three shorties hack it?
We started with a big, healthy breakfast.
A "hike."
(I carried a watermelon.)
Then we left the Blue Ridge Mountains ready to see Tennessee.
We finally turned Xavier around in his car seat, which really improved his lot in life. Two stops at Chik-fil-a, The Incredibles, several drive bys of historic sites to keep Mo and I interested (James Polk birthplace! Davy Crockett birthplace!) and this hot air balloon floating right above our car helped the time pass.
And just like that, we were at Grandpa's!
