This is our fifth day on the road. We're having a big cross country adventure to get from Connecticut to California and so far, so great. It's been a lot of fun and I feel like we've definately made the transition from stressed-out, over tired people with a milion to-do's and not enough hours in the day, to a family on vacation. It feels fabulous!
But before I post about the trip, I thought I'd catch up on photos from our last days in Connecticut. Both boys had their last days of school and all their teachers made their goodbyes with friends really special. I appreciate these kind and thoughtful people so much.
Countless friends and neighbors helped us out during those last few hectic weeks. We will miss seeing our Connecticut friends regularly, but have been so fortunate to have lived in such a great community. Thanks for helping with the kids, stopping by to check in and offering so much love and support.
And believe it or not, we did empty our house and left it (hopefully) in good shape for the next family to live there. In between rainy weather, the boys enjoyed their last times in the sandbox, climbing the tree in the backyard, checking the strawberry plants, playing in the driveway, sidewalk chalk-ing, riding bikes and scooters and running through the sprinkler.
But best of all, we were able to see everyone in our family over the last few weeks, with all of the grandparents especially really going out of their way to ease the burden of a big move with young kids and all it entails. As a special treat, Lindsey's wedding was the day before we started our journey so we were able to share in her beautiful day, enjoying the company of those we love and celebrating a new beginning for her and her wonderful husband Brian too.
We love you!
