Have you ever met a family who just seems to do life right?
I'm not saying they're perfect or don't have their challenges,
but they just seem to prioritize well and really embrace the path life's sent them on.
I'm so super lucky to know one such fabulous family. We headed to the NYC area this past weekend to visit them and also explore the city. We all had a fabulous time!
Here's part one, playing with the Flaherty kids.
Finnian and Isaac couldn't believe how much fun could be had
in a house with five kids and five kids' toys.
Last time I saw this fun little lady, she was a baby. Now, there are two more babies younger than her! It's hard to share in a few words how much joy and love exists in this family.
I think the lone boy in the crew enjoyed a visit from our boys.
In the morning, all the kids had some jammie time on the couches.
Even Georgia the dog, whose photos I could fill a whole post with.
I mean, really. Look how she gazes at that muppet. This is one dog who knows how to strike a pose.
These four are all within 3 years of each other.
And this precious child only had one word for me: moon. Apparently, she is obsessed!
The leader of the pack, and such a sweet girl.
The newest addition, 2.5 months old.
And finally, the parents. We had such a nice visit catching up with our friends (and trying to unlock their parenting secrets!). For me, it was the biggest treat to spend some time with Jean. She is gracious, kind and fun. She's funny too. She loves chocolate, sewing and interesting pieces of art as much as I do. She is a wonderful mom.
Ever since the fifth grade when she was forced to share her single locker with me, the new kid, when I moved to town, we've been friends. Now I feel an even greater bond with her as she is Xavier's godmother. I think Xavier is so lucky! And I was lucky to be there as they met for the first time.
We had such a wonderful visit and already look forward to next time! Smooches to the whole gang.
Next up, touristy NYC photos.

Jean Tulley. Well I guess its not Tulley anymore. But I can see that same great smile I remember when we would drive Jean home back in the days before High School. I remember her high energy and positive, bright personality. GOod thing Im thinking, with 5 children. God Bless them all.
