That's why when I heard his shriek from the bedroom last night, I knew he was hurt. He had slipped on the bunk bed ladder in his footed pajamas and somehow hit his mouth. There was so much blood, I was convinced it was his teeth, but thankfully, it was merely a couple of cut lips. I'm dreading the day one of these boys breaks a bone, gets a burn or knocks out a tooth. These types of things make me feel sick and faint. I hope I can suck it up enough to help.
As for Isaac, today, he's totally fine. But he's sporting two fat and tender lips. It kind of makes him more cute.
In other news, we've been painting this week. The boys painted and I glued a few model train cars we've had for ages.
And I finally got around to painting a background for this totally sweet figure that Finnian made:
One day he told me that he needed to do a project requiring black paper, white crayon, scissors and glue. He proceeded to craft away and present me with the figure. Can you see the resemblance? It's me! Needless to say, I love it. I especially love the hair and belly button detail. If only my hair was that awesome.
I painted an Eric Carle-esque background in dark pink to match my Liberty of London for Target lampshade I'm in love with in my room. Now, I just have to find the perfect spot to hang this masterpiece.
And, I think my avatar needs a cartoon bubble.

You will Im sure step up to any challenge that may come your way! And yes, great detail on the cut out, I can see you in it quite well. The Wolf artistic talent spans another generation...Yaaaaa.
ReplyDeleteThis is sooo cool! And you framed it! my kids usually give me a huge head and my husband a big and round head with crazy eyes.
ReplyDeleteAt least you get drawn... in our house it's only trains and cement mixers that are the usual subjects. Perhaps that's why I like this crazy-haired lady so much! BTW, have you ever embroidered something your kids have drawn? I've been wanting to try it, but haven't yet.
