murphyfix: So grateful

During this week of being grateful, I'm constantly reminded of the many joys and gifts in my life. I am thankful for so much, but when it comes down to it, the one thing I'm the most thankful for is my family. For the past several years, we've spent Thankgiving with my dad. While we were unable to be together this year, we all thought of him in a special way, missed him and his affinity for pie and started planning the next visit. My sister is far far away in Durango, Colorado for the holiday weekend and we know she's having fun, but miss her vegetarian take on classic dishes and board game prowess. JJ is no longer able to be with us at home, but for her too, we look forward to the next visit.

Also we have one brother-in-law who has been very hard at work and couldn't join the family for turkey, but he was also missed very much. Only three more weeks to go!!!

Besides those missing pieces, we were able to enjoy Thanksgiving day with the rest of the family. It was wonderful to see everyone and witness the full force of grandchildren, who are quickly taking over! For Xavier, Onora and Oisin, it was a first. And for two more sweet babies cookin' in the womb, it was a special day too. You will both be with us next Thanksgiving.

For my immediate family, I thank God every day. They are my joy in so many ways. Xavier, thank you for helping me appreciate the sweetness of being a mom. Isaac, thank you for the joy that you simply can't contain. Finnian, thank you for noticing all the detail of life. And Mo, thank you for taking care of all of us and being such a super role model to these little men.

A sincere thank you to Maurice and Kathy for always making us feel so welcome and doing so much to make occasions like these truly special. We love you all!
